Katie Decker

There really are no words to reflect the sorrow of losing someone so young. At only 30, Joshua's cousin Katie was far to young to pass. We celebrated her life last Saturday with the majority of the Oehler family.

Elizabeth Katherine “Katie” Decker, 30, of Tucson passed Feb 10th, 2013. During her brief life, Katie was an accomplished horsewoman & devoted canine advocate & caregiver. Loved by a large family, she leaves behind her loving mother, Jill, treasured bother & SIL, Chris & Sommer, father, John M. Decker, extended family, & her dog & constant companion Duke. Her family is comforted to know she is reunited with her beloved dog, Czoee. In lieu of flowers, donations requested for your local Humane Society or the USO.

My Valentine

Before February has completely come and gone, I thought that I should type a few words about my beloved Valentine. Joshua is everything that I hoped my husband would be - strong, kind, thoughtful, smart, funny and loving. He is quick to give me a hug, a compliment, or a shoulder to cry on. He lifts me up when I feel down. He shares my joy when I am happy. And, he seems to love me more everyday. I am clearly fortunate and plan to count my blessings on a regular basis. Valentine's day is just a really good time to say it out loud.

Halo's anniversary

One year ago today, our hearts were broken over losing Honey. I went online and found a picture of Halo as a little puppy in a cast. I decided to go visit him just in case. It was love at first sight. He was much more grown than the picture posted. He no longer had a cast. He was so happy....just happy to be alive. I asked Joshua to come meet him on his lunch hour and it was an easy decision to take him home from the animal shelter. From that moment on, he mended my broken heart and has brought endless hours of joy and laughter to our lives. I love him! Happy First Anniversay, Halo Balo.
