Wow! Such a treat! Joshua and I spent the afternoon enjoying the Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson. It is sort of a botanical garden mixed with a zoo. It is set right in the middle of Saguaro National Forest.

I love the Nature Trail at Piestewa Peak. It is amazing to think that it is right in the middle of one of the biggest cities in the country. Once you get back into the mountains, you feel like the city is miles away!

We are so fortunate to have a wonderful photographer in our family. If you live in Arizona and need family, engagement, wedding or special occasion photos, you should contact Meredith Moore. Not only is she a terrific photographer, she is a terrific person too!

Christmas around here is not just one day, especially now that we have two families. We kicked off the weekend with breakfast at Bill Johnson's (a Phoenix icon for over 55 years) and then a tour of a Microdwell exhibit (alternative spaces for simple living) with Josh's parents.
I rounded out the day by working on Josh's family's Christmas tradition of Pepparkakors.
Today we woke up and Joshua suggested that we take a hike in the McDowell Mountains with my Mom, Aunt and Halo. I told my Mom that she is officially and Arizonan now that she has taken her first Christmas - Desert Hike.
I stole a kiss under the mistletoe.
A Christmas halo
And, our doorbell has been abuzz with close friends dropping in to wish us a Merry Christmas and exchange presents. Our cups are brimming and the holiday has not even really began yet. This really is the best time of the year!

We visited Las Noches de las Luminarias at the Desert Botanical Gardens with cousins. Our house is decorated and we are ready for a visit from Santa! And, I am plum full of Christmas spirit.
Have a holly, jolly Christmas
It's the best time of the year.....
