Happy Easter weekend!
Erin invited me to breakfast and a ballgame today. We had such a nice time. It was gorgeous outside so we decided to treat ourselves to the Morning Glory Cafe on the Farm at South Mountain. Although there was a bit of a wait, the wait always seems to go by fast since you can drink coffee and chat. The beautiful setting never hurts either. If you've never been, I highly suggest this place. The food is always wonderful.
Erin was given two tickets for today's exhibition game at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix, Dbacks vs. Cubs. We parked a few stops away from the stadium and took the new Phoenix Light Rail. So convenient! The seats were great. We were just to the right of home plate. It was really nice to be so close to the field.
The quartet that sung the "Star Bangled Banner" were adorable. The Jumbo Tron at Chase Field is the widest screen in Major League Baseball. More history about Chase Field.
Final score: 6-0. Cubs won. All in all, it was a nice day. Erin and I seem to have fun no matter what we are doing - but it was nice to get outside and do something special. Although I had a great time, it felt pretty strange to be at a baseball game without Joshua. He's the baseball fan in our house.
Tomorrow, we plan to have a nice dinner and enjoy our treats that the Easter bunny will drop off tonight. I hope that you all have a wonderful and blessed Easter holiday.
